Our Services

Prenatal Consultations

A prenatal consult with one of our pediatricians before the baby is born can be helpful for first-time parents. This visit gives expectant parents a chance to meet us and tour our facilities.  Please call our offices to schedule a time with one of our physicians.  We welcome babies from all area hospitals.  If your baby is born at Northwest Community Hospital or Lutheran General Hospital, one of our doctors will check on the baby each morning.  Babies born at all other hospitals will be cared for by an in-house pediatrician and we will see the baby after discharge.  After the baby is born, the next visit should be 2-4 days after coming home.

Pediatric Health Maintenance/Well Child Visits

The first years of your child’s life are critical to development. At Sanders Court Pediatrics, we provide developmental screening at each well child visit.  Our physicians will be monitoring your child’s progress through all milestones.  We offer weekend and evening appointments for checkups to accommodate busy families. Well-baby check-ups are scheduled at birth, 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,10,12,15,18,24 and 30 months-old, and then annually.  These visits are more frequent when your child is changing and developing the fastest.  A typical visit will provide education about normal growth and development, general care and immunizations, and anticipatory guidance, that is, what to expect next.  Communication is key to the doctor-parent relationship at our practice; we have created a friendly, open environment so that parents feel comfortable with any issue or concern.

Adolescent Health Maintenance/Sports, School, and Camp Physicals

The teenage and pre-teen years can be challenging for most families. At our office, we try to help parents navigate through these stages of life. We offer male and female physicians to help our older kids feel more comfortable.  As children get older, one important part of well care is the completion of school, camp and sports forms.  Sanders Court Pediatrics provides this service to our families.  We recommend a yearly physical for all our adolescents; this may be the only opportunity we have to address the special health concerns of this age group.

Same Day Sick Appointments

At Sanders Court Pediatrics, we are available to you when you need us most. Sick children can always be seen by a doctor on the same day.  In addition to our weekday hours, we offer weekend and evening appointments. We also provide immediate urgent visits when medically necessary. We always try to meet your preference for office location, appointment time, and pediatrician whenever possible. Please call the front desk during office hours to schedule appointments. We always ask that you call us to schedule an appointment, as this helps to avoid unnecessary wait time. Both offices have a separate entrance and waiting room for children with potentially contagious illnesses to help protect our patients.

NICU Graduates

Although every baby is born with many needs, "preemies" have greater and more complex needs then other babies. During the first weeks and months that your NICU graduate is at home, you may feel overwhelmed by the high-tech medical care they may need.  Over the years at Sanders Court Pediatrics we have cared for hundreds of NICU graduates and are here to help you with your child’s special issues. We work closely with the neonatologist when your baby is discharged and ask that the baby be seen within 1-3 days of discharge.

International Adoptees

At Sanders Court Pediatrics, we have 16 years of experience with children adopted from foreign countries.  We have cared for over 300 children from countries including China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Paraguay, Korea, Russia and Guatemala.  International adoption can be very overwhelming to parents; we recommend your child be evaluated within 48-72 hours after arriving in the United States so that we can immediately partner with you in dealing with the special issues that come with international adoption.  This first post-adoption visit to our office includes a review of medical information, a physical examination, hearing, vision, and developmental testing. Feeding and behavioral patterns and immunizations are reviewed.  It is always a pleasure to watch these international adoptees grow and thrive.

Breast-feeding Support and Services

At Sanders Court Pediatrics, we are advocates of breastfeeding. We are pleased that so many of our patients have been successfully breastfed for much of their first year of life.  We work hard to help make it a rewarding experience. However, nursing is not the right choice for everyone, so please feel free to discuss this with us at any time. Our staff of doctors and nurses will help each step of the way, making sure your baby is getting the proper nourishment.  We refer to several local lactation consultants who are able to provide a home visit after the baby has left the hospital, if necessary.

Both office locations have x-ray facilities and CT on site. Our office is able to perform most common and routine tests and labs.  For more complicated services, there are laboratory facilities on-site at both locations.

Vaccinations

At Sanders Court Pediatrics, we strongly believe in the use of vaccines.  Our vaccine schedule is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and by the American Committee of Immunization Practices (ACIP). If there are concerns about the vaccines or the vaccine schedule, we are happy to take the time to educate parents on how and why they are necessary.

Our registered nurses are available during business hours to answer questions or discuss concerns regarding your child's health. Our nurses will assess your child's illness using nationally-recognized pediatric protocols and discuss recommendations with you. Amazing Care - I wish to acknowledge the amazing care my daughter has received from the doctors and nurses at Sander's Pediatrics especially when she was hospitalized with pneumonia. I most of all appreciated the constant communication. It was comforting to know that you were all accessible to address my concerns...
