Guide to Joining a TeleMedicine Visit

If you have called the office to schedule a TeleMedicine visit, you should have been provided with your child’s username and password to log into the patient portal. There are two ways to join a TeleMedicine visit-through a computer with a webcam and microphone through the patient portal, or through the Healow app on your smartphone.

Joining Using the Patient Portal from a Computer

  1. Visit our website at www.sanderspeds.com and click on the link to the patient portal.

2. Enter your child’s username (FIRSTNAMELASTNAMEYEAROFBIRTH)-not case sensitive; and your password. If you have never logged into the patient portal, the office staff will provide you with a temporary password.

3. If this is your first time logging in, you will be prompted to enter either a phone number or a date of birth. Please enter your child’s date of birth. Occasionally, we have noticed that if you enter a phone number, it causes problems logging in. You will then be prompted to change your password, and choose a security question.

4. Once you are logged in, you will see the dashboard page of the patient portal. This is where you will log on for your TeleMedicine visit. You can click the “Join TeleVisit” button up to 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.

5. You will then be prompted to enter vitals. You can leave this section blank, just hit “Submit Vitals.”

6. The next step is to check system compatibility. Make sure that you have enabled both your webcam and your microphone. Click “Proceed” after all systems are checked.

7. The final step is to enter the TeleVisit. Make sure that you click “Start Televisit” or the doctor will not know that you have joined.

8. Once you have reached the below screen, please wait for the doctor to join the visit. The doctors are working to stick to scheduled appointment times as close as possible, but please be patient if they are running late. If you are waiting for an extended period of time, please call the office to make sure that we can see that you have joined the visit.

Join Using the Healow App

1. Download the Healow App using your smartphone’s app store. Once downloaded, open the app to get started.

2. You will have to add the practice by searching by either the doctor’s name or office phone number. The Sanders Court Pediatrics practice code is IHCABA.

3. Enter your child’s username (FIRSTNAMELASTNAMEYEAROFBIRTH)-not case sensitive and password. If you have never logged into the patient portal, the office staff will provide you with a temporary password. Make sure that you click that the account belongs to “myself”, or else you will not be able to log in.

4. Once you have logged in, you will see the home screen of the app. Click on the red “Appointments” section to begin logging into the TeleMedicine visit.

5. Click on the Televisit button of your scheduled appointment.

6. Click on Start Televisit at the bottom of the screen.

7. Click on Start Televisit again. If you don’t click Start Televisit on both screens, the doctor will not be alerted that you have joined.

8. Once you see this screen, please wait for the doctor to join the visit. The doctors are working to stick to scheduled appointment times as close as possible, but please be patient if they are running late. If you are waiting for an extended period of time, please call the office to make sure that we can see that you have joined the visit.
